Q3- Psychology & Design

The user experience is a vital part of design. Psychology is the study of the human mind and its functions, especially those affecting behaviour in a given context. Design is now more user centred than ever before(Lidwell et al., 2010). Psychology helps to gain an understanding of how the user thinks and reacts so as to better tailor a design to their needs. The study of psychology is therefore essential to understanding human users’ needs, and hence creating better design and visual communications.
